Aventura en la ciudad

Serie de pinturas realizadas con acuarela + rotulador de tinta sobre papel de 56×76 cm.
La ciudad es el marco en el que nos desenvolvemos cada día, pero estamos tan acostumbrados a la nuestra que apenas le prestamos atención. Como escribiera Georges Pèrec, las calles son líneas que nos llevan de un punto hasta otro, pero en las que escasamente reparamos en nuestra rutina mundana.
Es sólo cuando viajamos a una ciudad ajena que las vivimos plenamente, tanto aquella como la nuestra, observando cada detalle: los ruidos, las voces, sus gentes, sus colores, las señales, formas de hacer, formas de moverse, modos de vivir y convivir. Y así vamos comparando lo que vemos con nuestra monotonía diaria. Aprendiendo y valorando. Reafirmando. Releyendo. Renovando.
Quizá deberíamos vivir cada día como una nueva aventura en nuestra propia ciudad.

En el lenguaje del cómic, una “splash page” es una ilustración a toda página que suele utilizarse como comienzo de una historia. Como marco donde da inicio la narración.

Adventure in the city

The city is the framework in which we live every day, but we are so familiar to ours that we hardly pay attention to it. As Georges Pèrec wrote, the streets are lines that take us from one point to another, but we scarcely notice them in our mundane routine.
It is only when we travel to a foreign city that we fully experience them, both the new one and ours, observing every detail: the noises, the voices, their people, their colors, the signs, ways of doing, ways of moving, ways of living and live together. And so we go, comparing what we see with our daily monotony. Learning and valuing. Reaffirming. Rereading. Renewing.
Maybe we should live each day as a new adventure in our own city.

In the language of comics, a «splash page» is a full-page illustration that is often used as the beginning of a story. As a framework where the narrative begins.
