EN TRÁNSITO
Lo que diferencia al viajero de los demás es que, sin duda, él es consciente de la fugacidad del momento y por eso su forma de mirar la ciudad y sus gentes es completamente diferente. El viajero, sentado en su asiento del tren, rodeado de gente que se dirige a sus trabajos, a sus casas, se siente especial.
Viajar a otras ciudades, a otros países, a otras culturas, supone poner a prueba todo lo que damos por válido, contrastar nuestras propias costumbres y, en muchas ocasiones, regresar cambiados, enriquecidos, diferentes. Y al volver miramos nuestra ciudad con otros ojos.
¿Acaso puede poseerse la ciudad?
Los recuerdos son instantes fijados en nuestra memoria que nunca permanecen quietos, nos acompañan toda la vida. Se difuminan a veces… de pronto un detalle que parecía olvidado ilumina una escena. Un lugar que nos transporta a otro lugar, que nos recuerda un olor, que nos lleva a otro momento, con otra persona. IN TRANSIT
What makes the difference between the traveler from the others is that, undoubtedly, he is aware of the transience of the moment and that thus his way of looking at the city and its people is completely different. The traveler, sitting in his train seat, surrounded by people who go to their jobs, to their homes, feels special.
Traveling to other cities, to other countries, to other cultures, is to put to the test all that we take for valid, to contrast our own customs and, in many occasions, to return changed, enriched, different. And when we return we look at our city with different eyes.
Can the city be owned?
Memories are instants fixed in our memory that never remain quiet, they accompany us throughout life. Sometimes they fade … suddenly a detail that seemed forgotten illuminates a scene. A place that transports us to another place, that reminds us of a smell, that takes us to another moment, with another person. Every time we return to a memory we modify it with our present … always in movement, always IN TRANSIT
